Sometimes, we all need a little bit of extra information. If you’re a little bit stuck or just want to find out more about your stay at The Old Stocks, you’ll likely find the answer here. If not, then please call our troupe on 01451 830 666, who will be happy to help.

Booking a Room

How can I book a stay at The Old Stocks Inn?
There are three ways to book your stay:

Booking online is our most convenient way – you can check availability, compare prices and discover our latest packages via our booking engine. However, if you have any special requirements and would like to chat anything through with us, then please do give us a call or drop us an email.

How do I pay for my stay at The Old Stocks Inn?
We accept all major credit and debit cards. Please note: we are no longer accepting cash within our business.

When do I need to pay for my room?
We require a credit or debit card to confirm your booking, but no pre-payment is taken unless stated to you in writing. All guest bills must be settled upon departure by either credit/debit card.

Is there a minimum number of nights I must book?
We operate a two-night stay policy on busy weekends but asides from that, you are able to book single-night stays throughout the year.

Staying with us for a wedding nearby?
For those trying to arrange a wedding nearby I'm afraid we do not accept block bookings for those people attending a wedding. We make no apologies for this, although we sympathise with the challenge. We want the Old Stocks to be available for those who want to escape and relax for the weekend. We hope you understand.

Group Bookings?
For bookings of a group that exceed more than 4 rooms, even if booked independently, we ask for a contract to be signed and deposit to be taken in advance. We are a small hotel and only have 16 bedrooms to provide each night, in order to ensure we are impacted at the last minute by large group cancellations we ask for a level of commitment from your group. We appreciate this can be difficult to arrange but we have different ways to help collect deposits from guests, just let us know.

What is the maximum number of nights I can book?
There is no maximum number of nights that can be booked – the more the merrier! All bookings are subject to availability, and you can check whether we have rooms available on your chosen dates via our online booking engine

Can I cancel my booking?
If you have booked a Flexible Cancellation Rate, you may cancel your booking at any time up to 48 hours prior to your check-in date. After that point, we will charge you in full for your room unless we can resell it on your behalf. If you need to cancel your booking urgently, please call our troupe on 01451 830 666. Alternatively, please email info@oldstocksinn.com

Pay Early, Amendable rates are NON-REFUNDABLE and can only be moved within 6 months of original travel dates subject to availability and also to price difference if rebooking for a different time of the week.

More About Your Stay

What is the earliest time I can check-in?
We advise all guests that check-in is from 3pm, but if you need to access the room earlier and it’s ready, then it’s all yours!

What is the latest time I can check-out?
We advise all guests that 11am is our check-out time. Sadly we cannot always accommodate a later check out, so please do contact Reception the night before departure and if we can accommodate a later check out until midday, then we will authorise this then.

Are there any parking facilities?
We have eight spaces at the rear of the hotel, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking outside the front of the hotel is free from 6pm to 9am each day – outside of these times, you can only remain parked there for two hours at a time. There is also a 24-hour free car park located next to Tesco Superstore, which is an eight-minute walk from the hotel.

Do the rooms have en-suite bathrooms?
All our rooms have en-suite bathrooms with either a rainfall shower or both a bath and shower. In some instances, freestanding baths are located within the rooms themselves – please see each individual room description for further details.

What are the beds like in the rooms?
All our rooms feature king-sized or super king-sized Hypnos beds. They’re so comfortable, you won’t want to leave!

Does The Old Stocks Inn have any additional beds available?
We have a number of rooms that can accommodate an extra single bed if you are part of a larger group or have an additional family member travelling with you. If you require an extra single bed in your room, please call us at least a week ahead of your stay to discuss your requirements further so that we can get everything I place well in advance of your arrival. Extra beds are charged at £20 per child and £40 per adult.

Does the hotel provide toiletries and towels?
Each room has a selection of Noble Isle toiletries and towels for you to use as well as fluffy bathrobes – perfect for relaxing in. In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we supply Noble Isle products in full size to use during a stay. If these are removed from the room and taken home, there is a charge of £15 per bottle to you.

Are the rooms air-conditioned?
Unfortunately, as The Old Stocks Inn is a Grade II listed building that was originally constructed in the 17th century, we cannot fit air conditioning to our rooms. All rooms come with desk fans and tower fans to provide extra comfort in warmer months.

Do you offer room service?
We don’t have a specific room service menu, but we’re more than happy to bring you drinks to your room – just call down to Reception and ask.

What facilities do the rooms offer?
Each room has a smart TV, digital radio with USB, telephone (internal calls only), tea- and coffee-making facilities (including a state-of-the-art Nespresso machine), and a free minibar with a complimentary tipple on us as well some soft drinks and water. We also include a fan for the humid nights and an excellent hairdryer too!
Full instructions on how to operate the Nespresso machine are included on your tea tray, but if you do need any help, just call down to Reception.

What can I do to make my stay even more special?
We can arrange flowers, chocolates, wine or Champagne for your room on arrival. However, if you’d like anything else at all, just ask – our troupe are a pretty resourceful bunch!

How much are your room rates?
Our room rates vary throughout the year, depending on the day of the week and season. All of our prices are displayed in our online booking engine and are updated every day – just enter the dates that you’re thinking of staying on, and let the website do the rest!

From time to time, we’ll have great offers and packages available, so it’s worth checking our offers and packages page on a regular basis. Alternatively, why not sign up to our newsletter? You’ll be the first to find out about what we’ve got going on.

Can I smoke in my room?
Sorry, but The Old Stocks Inn is strictly a no-smoking building. If you would like to smoke or use an e-cigarette, you are welcome to do so in the garden.
