You can’t go to the Cotswolds without popping into a tea room, and Smiths of Bourton is one of the very best. In the popular town of Bourton-on-the-Water, slightly set back from the river, you’ll find friendly staff, quirky décor and cakes to die for. If you can’t decide which cake you’d like, go for the antipasti and get three small(ish) slices of different cakes! Smiths opens seasonally from 1 February to 31 October.
