Wedding joy at Old Stocks Inn

XXXXXX

We love a good celebration at the Old Stocks Inn and we’ve had real reason to party recently with the wedding of two of our beloved troupe members! Jessica Arenelli (now Reay) tied the knot with Stacey Reay in front of their closet family and friends. Here, Jess gives us an insight into their very special day.

Our Team

Stacey and I are Australian and met back in 2014 when I joined the team at AMF Bowling in the northern beaches of Sydney, where Stacey was already working. It wasn’t until the end of 2015 when we become more than friends.

We both worked at the Bowling Alley while studying at University but had big dreams of traveling around the world and once we started dating, we decided to take a big step and starting to live our dreams together and move to the UK to accomplish this. Since then we have travelled to 20 countries around the world.

But we call the Old Stocks home now. We love working at the hotel because of the Old Stocks community – all the lovely regular guests and even new guests that stay with us for the first time who end up becoming more like family.

When we started planning our big day, it wasn’t legal in Australia for us to marry, that was only one of the reasons we decided to get married in the Cotswolds. Another reason, is the building we got married in, Pittiville Pump Room in Cheltenham as we both fell madly in love with on first sight.

We then had a lovely meal and celebration with our guests at the Kings Head in Cirencester. Our wedding was intimate with 14 of our closest friends and family, some of which flew all the way from Australia to be there. We also had friends we have collected in the two and half years from living in Stow, who now are family to us.

My greatest memory of the day, is once the ceremony had ended and we walked, hand in hand as Mrs and Mrs Reay for the first time and we were able to celebrate with our loved ones. It was so special.

Looking ahead, we hope to continue to travel the world together, and collect memories and support each other to reach our goals and ultimately live a long and happy life in the UK, with many trips to our other home, Australia. We also hope for one day to have a very cute baby basset hound and corgi of our own!

Congratulations to Jess and Stacey from everyone at the Old Stocks Inn!
